Description

Disease, famine, and sporadic attacks from the neighboring Powhatan Indians took a tremendous toll on the population of the settlement. In the winter of 1609-1610 Jamestown saw its darkest hour, when 300 settlers were trapped inside the fort to freeze, starve, or otherwise suffer. Only 60 of the 300 survived that winter. Click here to read more about the history of Jamestown and the trials the settlers faced.

Commemorate what the settlers were tasked to overcome with this laser cut wooden magnet, which reads “James Towne – Est. 1607 – When surviving wasn’t a game”.

Choose from red or green. Due to the nature of the laser cut, each magnet is unique and coloration may vary slightly.

Measures approximately 4″ x  1/2″ at its widest points.

Made locally in Williamsburg, Virginia by Bicast: a certified Small, Woman-owned, business.
