Assistant Curators provide strategic support to the curatorial department primarily through the supervision of artifacts as they move through the various stages of artifact processing. The zooarchaeological specialist will have a particular focus on the faunal, shell, coral, and fossil material in the Jamestown collection, assisting in laboratory-based tasks including collections and data management, public outreach including tours and online content, and engagement with Jamestown Rediscovery staff and academic colleagues.

curatorial intern

Curatorial Interns provide strategic support to the curatorial department through assistance with artifacts as they come into the lab or through specific work with already curated materials in the collection. Interns may either be project specific or responsible for general collections management tasks. The Curatorial Intern may also assist the curators in the development of the Jamestown Rediscovery Archaeological Reference Collection through rehousing, inventory, and artifact retrieval.
