The following offers only apply to Jamestown Rediscovery (the Preservation Virginia portion of Historic Jamestowne). Jamestown Rediscovery includes the 1607 James Fort, Memorial Church, Archaearium Archaeology Museum, plus walking tours and living history programs.
Free Youth Admission for Locals Using SNAP: Now through September 30
Thanks to a grant from the Williamsburg Community Foundation, Jamestown Rediscovery is pleased to begin offering free youth admission for local residents utilizing SNAP benefits this summer. As the nation comes together to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, there’s no better time to grow our community through increased access to Jamestown Rediscovery walking tours, archaeology in action, and exhibits. Program Details
- The Local Access program is in effect March 30, 2026 to September 30, 2026
- Subsidized admission is available for children between 6 and 15 years of age whose families are residents of the City of Williamsburg, James City Country, or York County AND utilize SNAP benefits
- Guests must present their SNAP EBT card and a photo ID at the ticketing desk to receive this discount
- All guests under 16 years old must be accompanied by an adult
- Subsidized tickets are only available in-person at the Visitor Center
Local Pass
Residents of certain zip codes in our area are eligible to purchase an annual Local Pass! For the cost of a single admission, Local Pass holders get free entry to the Jamestown Rediscovery/Preservation Virginia portion of Historic Jamestowne for a full year.
- Local Passes are available for residents of the following zip codes: 23089, 23090, 23127, 12168, 23185, 23186, 23187, 23188, 23690, 23691
- Purchasers must show ID or recent utility bill when purchasing the Local Pass
- Price: $15 for adults 16+, $5 for children 6-15
- Local Passes may be purchased in-person at the Visitor Center
- Local Pass holders, including children, must present their valid Local Pass at time of entry
- Passes are nontransferable
Preservation Virginia Members
An annual membership with Preservation Virginia supports historic preservation across the Commonwealth and entitles you to free or discounted admission to six historic sites, including Historic Jamestowne. Membership may be purchased at preservationvirginia.org.

- Preservation Virginia membership is only valid for the Jamestown Rediscovery / Preservation Virginia portion of admission
- Guests are required to pay the National Park Service entry fee (or use their NPS Park Pass)
- Preservation Virginia members must present a valid Preservation Virginia pass at time of entry

Free Admission for Tribal members with ID
Jamestown is on land claimed for centuries by the Paspehegh tribe and used as hunting grounds long before the Virginia Company arrived in 1607. In the latter half of the 16th century, the island was part of Tsenacommacah, the paramount chiefdom of Wahunsenacawh, also called Chief Powhatan. Their history is embedded here.
